One of those words of wisdom that I’ve learned was you shouldn’t care about criticism

from someone who you would never ask advice from. And even the compliments

shouldn’t matter to you. I heard that when I was about 40 and I wished I had heard

that when I was 14. I mean, we care so much about what people think of us. Especially

nowadays with the kids and the internet, right? We pay attention to what people say

about us. But even back when I was a kid, I wore clothes and did stupid things to look

cool so other people would like me. And most of the time—that acceptance or

criticism was from people I would never have asked for advice from.
